King’s Legend honored for his service in our first ever Knight of the Night ceremony

At our September 18 home football game, we celebrated our first Knight of the Night recognizing a special alumni player or coach in King’s football history.  The first honoree was Tom Luehmann who has given over 50 years of service and commitment to both King’s football and the King’s community.  Coach Luehman joined as head football coach in 1975, ultimately leading a previously winless King’s team to 3 league championships, 2 state appearances and the first ever undefeated regular season resulting in a state quarterfinal.  In addition to coaching, Tom also served as King’s High School Principal and Athletic Director for several years and led several student mission trips abroad. Even after retiring, Tom has remained connected with the football program as our Advance Scout – he continues to assist Coach Shapiro with game planning for upcoming opponents.

Thank you, Coach Luehmann, for all the years and heart you have poured into King’s!

To God be the Glory!
