King’s Boys Golf Coach wins Emerald Sound Conference Coach of the Year!
King’s Boys Golf wins Conference Sportsmanship award!
It is a little known fact that the first ever State Championship at King’s was the Boys Golf team back in 1994. That Championship pedigree has returned to the links for the Knights this season, with a league record 13 state qualifiers and potential for up to 4 State participants. What is even more impressive is the 30+ golfers that have turned out for Boys Golf this season, due in large part to the efforts of 3rd year head coach Dave Hynden and his assistant Adam Christiansen.Â
This week, those efforts were rewarded as Coach Dave received the votes of his coaching peers as the Emerald Sound Conference Coach of the Year! As one player puts it, Coach Dave does an amazing job at “knowing you more than a player in his program and communicating with Christ in mind.”
In addition to the Coach of the Year award, the team was rewarded with the conference sportsmanship award, given to the team that demonstrates the best sportsmanship throughout the season. As golf is a game of etiquette and courtesy, the Knights program demonstrated high marks in these areas throughout the season.Â
We are so proud of our Knights Boys Golf program. Congratulations to both our golfers and Coach Dave and Adam for their incredible work!
To God be the Glory!
