Coach Flugstad brings a strong tennis playing background to the Girls Tennis program. She knows what it takes to play Tennis at a high level and will do a great job building our program. She has already jumped in on the many logistics with tennis and is committed to pouring herself into the program. It takes a village to run a great tennis program, and Alexandra will be joined by familiar faces: assistants Susanna Hoke and Dawn Apacible. Congratulations Alexandra, may God use you in many ways to bless our program this year!
From Coach Alexandra Flugstad:
My name is Alexandra Flugstad, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the new Kings High School Varsity Girls Tennis Coach. I currently teach 2nd grade at Kings Elementary School and am grateful for the chance to continue investing in our students as they grow into high school athletes. I’ve been immersed in tennis my whole life and am a longtime member of the Seattle Tennis Club. I began playing USTA tournaments in the 8-and-under division and continued tournament competition throughout my junior career, competing across the Pacific Northwest region. In high school, I competed at Holy Names Academy and Henry M. Jackson High School, where I played #1 singles and competed at a state-qualifying level. I also had the opportunity to train through Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy camps, which were widely respected for developing high-level players. As an adult, I’ve stayed connected to the game through Seattle Tennis Club Ladies Day and interclub play. I’m passionate about helping players grow in fundamentals, match strategy, and mental toughness while building a positive team culture. I’m excited to build on the foundation of the Kings tennis program as we pursue excellence and growth and build resilient disciples of Christ on and off the court. I look forward to a great season with the Knights!
